Kotoko GM Not Expecting An Apology Letter From Yahaya Mohammed

The General Manager of Asante Kotoko, Samuel Opoku Nti, says he does not expect controversial striker Yahaya Mohammed to write a letter to beg the management of the team to consider their decision and re-sign him for the club.

Yahaya was handed an indefinite suspension by the Ghanaian champions after he penned down a two year contract with a Libyan club, Al Ittihad, after the CHAN tournament in South Africa, without the notice of the management of the former African champions, despite being contracted to the club.

As a result of his behavior Asante Kotoko wrote to FIFA to report Yahaya Mohammed and the Libyan club, which Ghanasportsonline.com has gathered that the Libyan club has terminated the move on realizing that the Ghana CHAN striker had a valid contract with Kotoko

And sources close to the dreadlocked attacker says the former Nice player is planning to write to the Porcupine Warriors to beg them to re-join them on a two year deal , after FIFA has written to Kotoko to take their own decision on the issue since the player has faulted.

However, Opoku Nti believes that Yahaya Mohammed is not a kind of player that he thinks that he will write to Kotoko to beg.

‘’We’re yet to receive such a letter from him. We have also heard those rumours.’’ He told Ashh FM

‘’What Yahaya Mohammed did, it didn’t hurt only the management team but the Board of directors were also affected.

‘’So management alone can’t take any decision on that situation. The board needs to be involved. I can’t take any decision on my own as a management member.

‘’So if he brings such a letter all stakeholders will have to take a decision on that, but Yahaya as I know will never write such a letter.’’
