GTTF to strike partnership with Singapore

The Ghana Table Tennis Federation (GTTF), is seeking partnership with their sister federation from Singapore to help in the development of the sport in the country.

The partnership, will be in the areas of exchange programmes for coaches and technical officials as well as participation in international competitions.

Mawuko Afadzinu, President of the GTTA, told the GNA Sports, he had had preliminary discussions with the president of the federation and steps will be taken to establish a firm relationship with the Asian country.

According to Afadzinu, Singapore, which dominated table tennis in the competition, has made much progress in the sport in terms of techniques and player development adding that, going into partnership with them will help his outfit.

Commenting on the performance of the team, Afadzinu said though the team did not win medals, they have shown enough prospects.

He said, the Ghana has also improved in the commonwealth ranking and was convinced with the needed exposure and training the players will make a better impact at the next competition.

The GTTF president said success should not necessarily be measured on medals, but the lessons learnt, personal records of the athletes as well as the overall impact in the competition.
