I’m now a new creation in Christ – Yaw Siki


Musician Yaw Siki, known in real life as Isaac Okai, is charting a new path after recovery from an accident on the Accra-Tema Motorway last year.

The accident occurred on April 15, 2013 around 12am, when Yaw Siki and a friend, driver of the vehicle, were returning to Tema after a business meeting in Accra. He sustained severe head injuries while the driver of the car sustained minor injuries.

Known for the popular hit song Wope Dodo, Yaw Siki, who has been out of the music scene since then, says he now venturing into gospel music.

‘I am into full time gospel music now,’ he said.
According to him, this time around he is bouncing back onto the music scene with a new single titled ‘Thank You’ which is a thanksgiving song to God and his fans.

He said the song was inspired by a new task Christ has given him to accomplish by ministering the word of God and to also share his experience with people.

A thankful Yaw Siki said God has given him another chance to live and also a message to deliver to his people. 

The musician was grateful for God’s healing after the accident.

‘God could have stopped the accident from happening but he put me in a situation that I will have to look up to him.’
