The ex-kotoko top official who passed-on few months ago was reported to have been battling with what was believed to be cancer.
Jerry Asare who is affectionately referred to as “show show” by Kotoko fans according to reports will be laid in state at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The astute businessman carved a big name for himself when he masterminded one of the most dramatic phenomena to have occurred in modern-day football after leading players of Asante Kotoko to boycott a top 4 match against Hearts of Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium in 2005.
A scene which was dubbed by Ghanaian football fans as “Yemo Biom” [We won’t play again].
The die-hard Porcupine member left a legacy in the Kumapem dynasty and will be remembered by Kotoko fans for his hard work and dedication to the Kotoko fraternity.
