Second Edition Of 2014 Ghana Basketball And Leadership Camp Set To Roll In August

Over 100 young basketball players are expected to take part in the second edition of the 2014 Ghana Basketball and Leadership Camp in Cape Coast next month.

Adisadel College will play host to the seven-day exercise which has already generated massive interest among young basketball players in the West African country.

Interested basketball players between the ages of 10-19 are expected to camp for a week for an exciting and unique basketball experience that will benefit them immensely towards their growth and development.

The one-week camping exercise for boys and girls, expected to take place between August 17-24, will provide the platform for these players to learn the fundamentals of the game including shooting, dribbling, rebounding, screening, offense, defense and ball handling amongst other skills.

This will undoubtedly enhance their understanding and appreciation of the game while equipping them with some essential life skills.

Accomplished businessmen and women will take the kids through the art of building self-confidence, self-respect, teamwork, communication amongst others.

It is a whole new experience intended to help these players to step up in class as they will learn new adventures away from home. Players will also get the chance to play series of matches and engage in fun activities during the camp.

Experienced coaches from Germany and the United States of America and some selected local coaches are expected to supervise this all-important camp.

Recording of activities during the camp will be made available to some selected High Schools and Colleges abroad for possible educational scholarships.

The Chairman of the Ghana Basketball Association, David Addo-Ashong, has expressed his delight with the new initiate and reckons it will go a long way to help the kids to build on their game.

Chief Executive of Rite Multimedia – organizers of the event, Yaw Sakyi Afari, says players who will be part of the camp will get a thrilling practical experience never witnessed in Ghana.

The second edition of the camp comes on the heels of the visit of Miami Heat star Chris Bosh in Ghana last week.
Bosh participated in the 2014 Sprite Ball Clinic which was facilitated by Sprite, NBA Africa, the Ghana Basketball Association and organised by Rite Multimedia.
