Ded Buddy Launches Autism Campaign and Fun Day

RnB /soul singer Qwesi formally known as Ded Buddy has launched an Autism campaign and fun day to help not only raise awareness on the condition but also generate funds to support kids with Autism.

The event is schedule for 18th of July at the Efua Sutherland Children’s’ park – Accra. The singer whose kid brother has Autism spoke to the press recently and mentioned that his foundation DED’ICATED Foundation in collaboration with the Special school is going to make sure that Ghana and the world at large get to celebrate and accept children with Autism.

The Autism ambassador together with parents and reps from the special school all threw light about the disease and cautioned parents whose kids have this special disease not to hide but come out to encourage the kids. Talking about the disease and its challenges, Mrs. Serwa Quaynor of the Autism Awareness, Care and Training said: ‘I was excited when I saw Ded Buddy walk into our office to help us raise funds and awareness for children with Autism.

Children with Autism are special and needs to be treated as such. They can do more if care and attention is given to them. Children with Autism can go as far as Senior High school through to the University hence she used the opportunity to appeal to everyone to support this move.”

The ambassador for Autism Miss Alice also explained that the funds when raised will be properly allocated and to make sure that happens a registration process has already began to make sure an accurate number of parents with these kids with Autism can be accounted for. Alice also noted that an Andriod App has been developed to aid parents whose kids have Autism to know how to treat and entertain them.

The App also gives detail information about the symptoms, centres and everything one has to know about Autism. In her ending words she mentioned that her team together with the singer Ded Buddy have outline a one year plan that will make sure the awareness and fund creation activities does not end after the 18th of July 2014 at the Childrens’ Park.

Throwing more light on the fun day, Singer Ded Buddy said, on that day it will all be about the kids from the special schools and other schools that takes care of Children with Autism.

He also stressed that there will be lot of activities such as drama, paintings, games and more hence parents should try as hard as they can to come support their kids. He also mentioned that his fellow musicians will be there to entertain the kids hence everyone is invited to see how special these kids are.
