They are said to have on June 28, 2014, at the Kokomba Market in Accra, had in their possession one locally manufactured double- barrel gun and a kitchen knife with intent to rob.

Nana Yaw is facing another charge of possessing one wrap of leaves suspected to be Indian hemp without lawful authority.

The accused persons denied the charges preferred against them in the court presided over by Ali Baba.

The trial judge however, admitted Sedzro and Awuku to bail in the sum of GH¢10,000 with two sureties each one to be justified, to reappear on July 18, 2014.

Briefing the court, Inspector Kwabena Adu said on the aforementioned date, complainants in the case who are police officers, met the suspects at the Kokomba Market with Nana Yaw having a bag strapped to his back.

He said the complainants, upon seeing the behaviour of the suspects as they entered a drinking bar, suspected the contents of the bag.

Inspector Adu said that the complainants searched the bag and found the aforementioned items and a voter’s identity card belonging to Nana Yaw.

He stated that the accused persons were handed over to the police.
