Hearts Of Oak Appoint Herbert Addo On A Two-year Deal

Accra Hearts of Oak have reached an agreement to appoint experienced coach Herbert Addo for a two year deal, Ghanasportsonline.com can exclusively reveal.

Addo, who guided Aduana Stars to a League success in 2010 steered newly promoted side Inter Allies to an impressive run last season that prompted the Phobians to seek his signature.

He thus replaces Mohammed Polo whose short contract with Accra Hearts of Oak elapsed at the end of last season. Addo will be assisted by former King Faisal coach Stephen Abugri.

Hearts of Oak were earlier linked with a move for Kotoko coah Didi Dramani and former Dwarfs coach Prof J.K Mintah but talks for the two stalled, and the Phobians swiftly moved to appoint the ex Black Stars coach.

Addo masterminded Inter Allies’ survival campaign in the First Capital Plus Premier League in their debut season.

The veteran trainer led the Tema-based club to the final of the MTN Ghana FA Cup but lost to Asante Kotoko.

Hearts will represent Ghana at next year’s CAF Confederation Cup after placing third behind Kotoko and Heart of Lions.
