The Central and Western Regional Director of the Direct Aid- Ghana, Mr Asaad Khazaal Salih has advised Muslims to show concern for one another in times of need.
Direct Aid, an Islamic Non-Governmental Organisation committed to the welfare of the vulnerable in the society especially children operates in 25 countries in Africa and has four orphanage homes in Ghana including Ayensudo in the Central Region, Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, Accra and Tamale in the Northern Region.
Mr Khazaal Salih said Muslims must endeavor to show love and offer help to others wherever they find themselves.
‘Wedon’t need to fight each other;we must live peacefully as one family’, he said.
Mr Khazaal Salih made the call when he donated items worth 32,800 Ghana Cedis to some communities in the Central and Western Regions as part of the Ramadan celebrations.
The month of Ramadan is a period set aside on the Islamic calender to fast and teachMuslimsall over the world about self-restraints, holiness, forgiveness and generosity.
The items which included 150 bags of rice, 10 bags of sugar and beans, 12 cartons of ideal milk, seven boxes of medium size canned tomatoes, and 150 gallons of 25 litre oil were to serve 150 families in the two regions.
Mr Khazaal salih said the food donation was also a source of help and support, especially for those who were fasting.
Mr Khazaal Salih entreated Muslims in Ghana to use the Ramadan season to intercede in the country’s economic challenges, saying, ‘it is the role of every believer to pray to God on behalf of his or her country’.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed happiness and commended Direct-Aid Ghana for the kind gesture.
