Kwaw Kesse and American wife, Ann divorce after six years

Hiplife artiste, Emmanuel Botchwey known on stage as Kwaw Kese has ended his six-year-old marriage with his American wife, Ann.

Popularly known as ‘The King of the Streets’ or ‘Abodam’, Kwaw Kese tied the knot with Ann in 2008, who was then working with the American Embassy in Ghana.

He took to microblogging site, Twitter on Monday to announce the divorce. He tweeted that: ‘SINGLE AGAIN, AFTER 6 YEARS OF MARRIAGE I AM OFFICIALLY SINGLE!!!!’

It is unclear what might have caused the separation and attempts by Myjoyonline.com to reach the controversial rapper who is currently in the United States, have proven futile.

A source told Myjoyonline.com that the two parted ways on mutual grounds and that they finalised the divorce in the States.

Kwaw Kese has been in the US after his former manager, Fennec Okyere was laid to rest on Saturday, April 26, 2014.

In 2008, the ‘Ma Kwan’ hit singer made the headlines after he alleged that he had a 30-minute meeting with President Bush while he was visiting Ghana.

It was reported that the musician was nominated as Ghana’s Youth Malaria Icon to support the fight against malaria in Ghana. This however, later turned out to be a media spin with no substance.

It later emerged that Kwaw Kesse was at the US Ambassador’s residence while President Bush was visiting because he is married to the American citizen who also worked at the Embassy. Spouses of all Embassy staff were invited to the occasion and President Bush took photographs with a number of them.

There are unconfirmed reports that the rapper has two kids with Ann – Sean and Veronica. Story by Ghana | Myjoyonline.com | Ernest Dela Aglanu (Twitter: @delaXdela / Instagram: citizendela)
