Fayose Donates Bags Of Rice To Muslims In Ekiti

Newly elected Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, distributed over 14,500 branded 5kg bags of rice to Muslim faithfuls across the state, according to the reports.

Mr. Ayo Fayose distributed the rice rice at the Ado Ekiti Central Mosque and Ansarudeen Central Mosque, noting that the gesture was inspired by the Ramadan season.

The Deputy Governor-elect, Dr. Olusola Elega, who spoke on the behalf of Mr. Fayose, said: “You know the Governor-elect is a man of the people and he so much has the love of the people at heart.

“He is doing this to demonstrate his love for the people and to identify with them especially during this season of Ramadan.”

The Deputy Governor-Elect who expressed appreciation for the massive support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received in the June 21 gubernatorial election, gave the assurance that he will fulfill all the promises made during campaign as soon as he officially becomes part of the administration.

Elega also urged Muslims in the state to use the opportunity of the month to pray for the country and Ekiti state.

According to him, the peace being experienced in the state is as a result of the prayers of both Muslim and Christians.

The President, Ekiti State League of Imams and Alfas, Alhaji Jamiu Kewulere, who received the commodities thanked the incoming governor for the gesture.
