READ Primate’s Warning Message To Christians

The Primate of All Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Most Revd Nicholas Okoh, weekend, warned Christians not to fall for the false doctrine being preached which could lead them to dare punishment from God.

The Primate who noted that the false preachings is causing problem in Christendom made this warning while condemning the action of the Church of England to rewrite christening rite said it is unfortunate that, the world because of knowledge are now trying to replace God with science.

The Church of England is trying out a new baptism service which drops all mention of the devil and sin from their Book of Common Prayer.

Instead of asking parents and godparents to ‘reject the devil and all rebellion against God’, it asks them to make a single broad pledge to ‘reject evil’.

Among other phrases abandoned in the experimental new christening rite are those referring to ‘the deceit and corruption of evil’, ‘the sins that separate us from God and neighbour’, and a promise to ‘fight valiantly as a disciple of Christ against sin, the world and the devil.’

The proposal to delete the devil from the ritual received initial approval by the House of Bishops and will be debated by the Anglican General Synod in York this July. If approved, these changes may reveal that the Church of England is losing its sense of sin—and its need of salvation.

Okoh, criticized in totality the new version of the prayer at the Diocesan Youth Conference and Order of Holy Communion Service tagged; I Know Your Work’ organized by the Anglican Youth Fellowship (AYF), in Abuja.

The Archbishop explained that with the new baptismal rite, there will be no word of salvation in the Church of England, because they believed that ‘Sin’ and the ‘Satan’ did not exist.

Okoh maintained that the Satan deceived them that he is not in existence, but the rate of crimes and divorce keep on increasing in their lands.

“Satan gives them idea that he does not exist, but the divorce rate is increasing and crime rate going up, yet they believe Satan does not exist,” he said.

Okoh called on parents and guardians to ensure that their wards get a sound biblical doctrine, and be fed with the words of God before sending them to oversea for education.

“There are problems, for those of you, who will like to go for education in abroad after your primary or secondary education, please, do your first degree in Nigeria first, that one will make you to be matured before you go abroad,” he urged.

Okoh futher urged the youths to shun the habit of ‘make it quick syndrome’, as the love of money is the root of all evils rather advised them to make education their priority

According to him, “we are in the era of politics, don’t be used for tuggrey, no politician is worth dying for. You should not allow anybody to corrupt you, particularly the girl. There is future for you, don’t allow anybody to use you and dump you.”
