IMANI Ghana Expands Its Reach To Francophone Africa


The well celebrated Ghanaian think tank IMANI, Center for Policy and Education has expanded its work to other francophone African countries.

IMANI is a think tank, educating society on the benefits of a free economy and policy issues concerning business, government and civil society. Its mission is to advance freedom and prosperity across all societies.

As stated on their francophone website, ‘IMANI would like to ensure francophone Africa is incorporated into the debates of liberty, business development and prosperity of the African continent’. Information available on the website indicates that they would be focusing on the 15 countries making up the Ecowas sub-region, with a particular attention on counties like Togo, Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Guinea, Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso.

The think tank has enjoyed relatively high rankings in the Global Go to Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program, organized annually by the University of Pennsylvania – for instance in 2013 IMANI was ranked the most influential think tank in Ghana and fourth in the sub-region. It [Imani] will draw once again draw global attention for this remarkable step it has taken.
