Health Minister Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu made this known Friday, Punch says.
Previous reports referring to the police said 21 people were killed and 17 injured in the attack. Meanwhile Chukwu stated that 20 people died on the way to the hospitals, and 4 victims passed away “shortly after arrival”.
The minister, who visited the victims admitted to the Maitama District Hospital, also said there are currently 27 patients receiving treatment in various hospitals of the country capital.
President Goodluck Jonathan visited the scene of tragedy and the hospital where the victims were taken. The President had cut his visit to Guinea and withdraw from participating in the summit upon hearing the sad news.
