Internal Wrangling Within NPP Cause of Our Defeat – Fred Amankwah-Sarfo

A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP], Fred Kwaku Amankwah-Sarfo has said that the party will forever remain in opposition if issues within the elephant fraternity are not solved amicably.

According to him, the party must be amalgamated within the ten regions to win back power from the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC] whose governance have been questioned by its own members and the citizenry.

He described two-time Presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Presidential flagbearer hopeful Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten factions within the party as “unfortunate”, adding that if that is not resolved the party is likely to taste opposition again in 2016.

The former NPP Vice-Chairmanship aspirant further stressed that the party must be united to battle the NDC in 2016.

“Let us be willing to fight together even in our current adversities. Failure doesn’t define you or what you do. It’s just an event, something that happens at a specific day/time. Let us be willing to learn from our past failures. We all have to face our fears sometime. But we must remain positive and resolute in face of adversities,” he said.

In an interview with Peacefmonline.com Fred Amankwah-Sarfo opined that “Our electoral record is three successes out of 12. Most of our defeats at the polls have been the results of our own internal wranglings”.

Adding that; “As members of the New Patriotic Party, let us take a cue from the advantage to be derived in our team spirit, togetherness, unity of purpose, tenacity and willingness to learn from our past mistakes”.
