Over seven persons lost their lives and 20 are reportedly wounded during an explosion that took place at the Kano School of Hygiene along Sabuwar Kofa in Kano State.
The spokesperson for the Kano Police, Magaji Majiya, who confirmed the explosion to Sahara Reporters, said it is possible that the blast was a result of an explosive device going off.
According to Leadership, it was a suicide attack by a yet-to-be-identified bomber. The suicide bomber has since been apprehended by the local police.
Reportedly, the school is adjacent to the private residence of Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar. The area has been cordoned off, with the officials to comment shortly.

Parts of human bodies lay scattered around, he reports, expressing his shock over the incident and doubting sanity of the perpetrator. Many parents whose children could have been near the school, he says, are panicking as the police commissioner and secruty agencies are evacuting the victims.
