THE PRESIDENT of Christian Evangelical Ministerial Bible College (CEMBC), Rev Dr Alex Kwasi Acquah, has called on members of the clergy to lead lives that is above reproach and acceptable by the norms of their callings.
Rev Dr Acquah said this in a speech he presented during the first graduation ceremony for 10 students of the CEMBC held in the auditorium of the Christian Evangelical Ministry (CEM),located in Pig Farm, Accra.
He added, ‘By all standards, pastors are expected to lead lives which will not make people question them about their character.’
Rev Dr Awuah, who also doubles as the Head Pastor of CEM, however regretted that current trends within the priesthood ‘have been characterized by social vices such as exploitations, immorality and indulging in occult to perform miracles among others.’
He charged the graduates to lead exemplary lives as people in the society, adding, ‘It is the only way by which you can win converts to Christ.’
He further enumerated that although the Bible School is still facing some financial challenges, diploma and degree programmes in Theology would soon be introduced.
The General Overseer, Light of Life Gospel Mission, Rev Dr Emmanuel Osae, urged the new pastors to resist any temptation to refuse consul from members or senior members of the clergy, and learn to preach the word of God wherever they find themselves.
