THE GHANA Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has held a service at the Church of Pentecost (COP) Central Tabernacle, Koforidua, to induct new executives into office.
The new executives were Apostle Anthony Kingsley Miah, COP Koforidua Area Head, Chairman, Apostle J. Amoah and Apostle Jones (Territorial Head, Global Evangelical) as 1st and 2nd Vice Chairmen respectively and Rev Nii Tackie-Otoo, COP, Koforidua Area Secretary.
The others were Rev Noah Okyereh-Anane, Assemblies of God Church, Apostle J.K Ansah, Apostolic Church and Apostle P. Konotey, Ghana Apostolic Church.
The General Secretary of GNPCC, Apostle Samuel Yaw Antwi in a sermon based on the theme: ‘The Unity of the Body’, (Psalm 133 and John 17:20-33) decried the negative attitudes among Christians which seek to divide the body of Christ.
He said true Christian practice is based on how much one loves Jesus Christ and is prepared to lead a lifestyle that depicts his teaching, adding that ‘criteria for entry into heaven will not depend on the denomination one belongs to.’
The General Secretary further reiterated the need for Christians to be united in Christ by putting away their different denominations.
Apostle Antwi stressed that when Christians are united in body and spirit, they have a better chance of making impact on society.
The General Secretary who inducted the new executives into office charged them to work to enough to unite the body of Christ as well as expand their missionary activities through evangelical work and social services.
He urged them to also take charge of the administration of the Council to cover the rest of the region.
The incoming Chairman of GPCC, Apostle Anthony Kingsley Miah paid glowing tribute to the outgoing executive for what he described as good pioneering efforts.
The Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Mavis Frimpong, urged Christians to continue to intercede for the nation especially in these challenging times.
She also urged Christian women to come up with proposals on income-earning innovations as a way of improving their financial status.
