Dan Opare Ruled Out of Ghana-Germany Game

On the back of a public backlash for a bad performance against USA which was likely to have taken him out of Ghana´s first XI against Germany in Fortaleza Saturday, Standard Liege defender, Dan Opare, has ruled himself out of the Ghana-Germany match due to a nasty clash with goalkeeper Fatau Dauda during Thursday afternoon´s training in Maceio.

Opare limped off the field aided by Black Stars team doctor, Baba, during the dying embers of the team´s Thursday afternoon training session.

Ghana sports source close to the team has revealed that Opare is likely to miss the rest of the team´s group matches.

An MRI scan will be done to determine the extent of injury and the result will be out by close of day tomorrow. Today Thursday June 19 is a public holiday in Brazil.

It will be recalled that ahead of the Black Stars departure for Holland goalkeeper Fatau Dauda clashed with Majeed Warris during training at the Accra Stadium resulting in the Valencienne striker unable to complete training training on the day.

A diagnosis later revealed Warris´injury wasn’t alarming.
