No Special Incentives For Black Stars TO Beat Germany

The Ghana Football Association will not be offering any special incentives to the Black Stars ahead of their crucial second group game against Germany at the 2014 World Cup.

Ghana are in desperate need of a positive result against the three-time winners on Saturday following their shocking 2-1 defeat in the opening Group G game against the USA last Monday in Natal.

The Ghana FA have in the past offered special incentives to the Black Stars players to stimulate high performance especially ahead of crucial matches.

But it says no such arrangements are being made this time around and that players will be rewarded per the agreed terms once they progress from the group.

“The incentive package for the team is not based on only winning one match,” Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi disclosed.

“To earn the bonus for this stage we need to qualify – it is called a qualification bonus and not a winning bonus.

“So with each game at hand the promise of qualification bonus applies and therefore the players will be rewarded once they qualify us to the next stage.”

The Black Stars resumed training on Tuesday ahead of the weekend’s vital game against Germany in Fortaleza.

The team will continue with their preparations until Friday when they depart to Fortaleza to face the European giants.
