Late NPP Chairman Remembered!

Family of former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice-Chairman of the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, the late Patrick Opoku Baah has remembered him; five years after his death.

Mrs. Beatrice Opoku Baah, wife of the deceased, told the Daily Searchlight that though it has been five since her husband died, it still feels like yesterday.

“it has been five years since my husband left this world but it feels like yesterday because he did not die a natural death; he was murdered” she recalled.

The late Opoku Baah was shot dead on June 18, 2009 when armed robbers broke into his home at Taifa and made away with his jewelry, a singled-barreled pump action gun and GH3,500 cash.

Mr. Baah was shot three times in the chest when he attempted to pick up his pump action gun after the robbery.

The robbers took his gun and went to a room, which housed the deceased visitor from Germany and robbed him of GH1000, 3,500 Euros and a Nokia cellular phone.

They bolted immediately after the robbery while Mr. Opoku Baah and his German friend were rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, for treatment. Unfortunately Mr. Opoku baah was pronounced dead on arrival.

The alleged killers of the deceased are currently standing trail in an Accra circuit court presided over by Francis Obiri. Wahaap Naakpah and ALhaji Martey Tei Korley, alias Mohammed, are facing four counts of conspiracy, robbery, and murder.
