Workers of the National Labour Commission are asking President John Mahama to sack their chairman, Edward Briku Boadu.
They accused him of breaching procedures of employing new Executive Secretary for the Commission.
In an eleven point statement which have been pasted on their walls with red bands, the workers claimed the chairman is a dictator, intimidates workers, and is doing things in his interest.
Beatrice Adu who was at the NLC Wednesday morning reports the entrance of the Commission’s main office door and the staircases to the workers’ offices are decorated with red bands.
The workers, she said, were seen angrily talking about their chairman’s actions among themselves.
In the statement pasted, they claimed he is a dictator whose interest is to run the day to day administration of the commission.
According to the workers, he wants to employ an Executive Secretary of his choice in order to manipulate him or her against staff.
They therefore want President Mahama to sack him for breaching the procedures of employing a new Executive Secretary whilst there’s already someone who has been acting for one year.
Martin Didemudo, the director of Industrial Relations at the NLC, told Joy News they received a letter on Tuesday from the Public Services Commission seeking to advertise the position of the Executive Secretary in order to get someone for the post.
‘The letter that came from the Public Services Commission with an invoice to actually advertise the position is making reference to a letter which in the first place is not on record so far as the record of the Commission is concerned,’ he said.
According to Mr. Didemudo, the Acting Executive Secretary should be assessed for his suitability before any attempt- if there is the need- be made to get a substantive one.
A worker, who wants to remain anonymous, said they cannot work with Edward Briku Boadu again.
Another worker blamed organized union for nominating Edward Briku Boadu even when they disagreed.
Meanwhile the Executive Director has been unavailable for comment.
