Soldier Stabbed To Death By A Prostitute

A commercial sex worker in Bayelsa state reportedly stabbed a soldier soldier attached to the Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Pulo Shield to death over his refusal to pay for a daybreak sex romp.

The Nation reports that the soldier whose name has been kept under wraps was reportedly stabbed twice in his stomach by the prostitute at about 4a.m. on Tuesday.

Some of the prostitutes said he died immediately after he was stabbed, while some others said he died later in a hospital.

Recounting what happened, one of the prostitutes who pleaded anonymity said, “After the soldier refused to pay, there was an argument very early in the morning. The girl who was angry grabbed a knife and stabbed the soldier in the stomach. We later saw the soldier struggling with blood flowing from the wound in his stomach.

“We are now living in fear because there may be reprisal from other soldiers. Most of us have decided to stay away from the area for sometime.”

The incident was said to have left other prostitutes at the popular redlight district known as Hospital Road Junction along DSP Alamieyeseigha Way, Yenagoa in panic.

Some others who patronized the prostitutes and were still in their shanties with them were said to have hurriedly dressed up and left the area to avoid getting into trouble.

Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hilary Opara, said the culprit had been arrested, adding that the  police had yet to receive report of the victim’s death.
