The officers of the Lagos State Police Command, on Monday arraigned a 35-year-old man, Uche Afokaigbo, before an Itire Magistrates’ Court for allegedly biting a woman’s breast.

The accused, who resides at No. 20, Enoma St., Ago-Palace Way, Ago-Okota, Lagos is facing a one-count charge of assault before Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Gbajumo.
Inspector Olakunle Shonibare, police prosecutor told the court that the accused on May 12, 2014 assaulted one Kemi Oluwaja, who happens to be his neighbour and bit her on the breast.
Shonibare explained that a fight broke out between the wife of the accused and the complainant, Oluwaja, over a stove burner, which consequently led to the intervention of the accused, adding that after Afokaigbo bit the complainant on her breast, he snatched the stove burner from her.
The prosecutor informed the court that the offence contravened Section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The magistrate, however, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case to June 23, for commencement of trial.
