Mr. David Aidoo, a family member to New Patriotic Party [NPP’s] member of the Council of Elders, Mrs Gladys Asmah has debunked media reports that the NPP stalwart has passed on to eternal glory.
Mrs Gladys Asmah was reported by a section of the media to have died on Sunday at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra where she was receiving treatment for a heart-related illness. The initial report had it that she had been in coma at the Cardio Centre of the hospital for the past week.
But speaking with Madina-based Oman FM, David Aidoo stated categorically that, the NPP ‘Iron lady’ is still alive. He explained that, doctors are attending to her and hoped she will recover from her illness soon.
“The information in the public domain is false. She [Gladys Asmah] is not dead. Even the doctors were surprised with the information out there (in the public domain). She is alive for now. Though in a critical condition she can open her eyes and move her body as well….
“…if you are not a medical person, you might think she is dead but she is alive. We [family] are hoping for the best,” he said.
Nonetheless, Mr. Aidoo called on Ghanaians to pray for Mrs. Gladys Asmah and stop circulating false information about her death.
