Former NAFDAC DG/Minister of Information, Dora Akunyili who’s remains arrived Nigeria, on June 11, 2014, from Mumbai will be buried on August 28, 2014, the family has announced.

The Late Professor Dora’s husband, Dr. Chike Akunyili in a statement issued on June 15 in Awka, Anambra State siad that:
“Details about the funeral arrangements will be made available to the public in due course”.
Dr. Akunyili who was with his India where she was receiving treatment thanked Nigerians for the great love they extended to Dora both in life and at death.
He also expressed his family’s appreciation to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for the special valedictory session of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) held in honour of his wife, Dora.

It was reported that Prof. (Mrs.) Akunyili died on June 7 at the age of 59 after a two-year battle with cancer in India.
