Ghanaian international midfielder Isaac Cofie says with unity of purpose and determination, the Black Stars can succeed at the Brazil 2014 World Cup which commenced on Thursday June 12 th .

Coach Kwesi Appiah’s team has been tipped to exit the competition at the group stage, having been paired in the same group as USA, Germany and Portugal.

‘The team is made up of a mixture of the young and experienced. We have the indispensable experience of the likes of Essien and Sulley Muntari. We have the fighting spirit of Dede Ayew,’ he told Power FM.

‘The young lads like Astu. And I think it all comes down to working as a team. So I think when we work as a team with determination, we can go very far,’ he added.

Some experienced soccer pundits including Chelsea manager José Mourinho and former England star Gary Lineker have predicted that the Stars will not be able to go past group stage looking at the strength of the team, a view that Arsenal Boss Arsène Wenger disagrees.

Cofie who has three caps to his credit failed to make the cut for the World Cup as he was left out of the provisional squad for the Copa Mundial.
