England’s nightmare: England’s biggest fails against Italy

It was a good performance by England, but they still went home with zero points from their first World Cup game against Italy.

Unfortunately for them, they also became the World Cup’s laughingstock after a few unlucky scenes.

The biggest fail of the night happened right after England’s 1-1 equalizer. Sturridge scored after a great cross from Rooney and the English bench started celebrating – but suddenly, someone lay on the ground.

It was physiotherapist Gary Lewin who was celebrating so hard that he injured his ankle pretty badly.

Doctors were with him quickly and he was carried to the locker room. For Lewin, the World Cup is now over before it has really started. The second funny moment we owe to Wayne Rooney.

The Manchester United star earns 360.000 Euros a week, but his corner kick in the 77th pesewa. It was 10 metres high and way behind the goal. But probably the turf bears the blame.

Steven Gerrard also had his slapstick moment. The Liverpool star collided with referee Björn Kuipers and fell over the Dutchman’s legs. However, the foul went unpunished.

All in all, it was a night to forget for the motherland of football in Manaus.
