Siniestro total: Netherlands are worthy winners – Del Bosque

Speaking in the aftermath of the 5-1 thrashing by Holland, Vicente del Bosque insisted that real competitors “don’t give up” and said his charges would strive for victory in the next match, against Chile.

“We lost, but that’s sport. We have to accept the defeat, it’s as simple as that”, he noted. “They were the better team in the second half. When they went ahead, their spirits soared, while we became subdued”, the former Real Madrid manager explained.

“I’m aware that we’re really up against it now, but we have to all pull together to try to turn things around ahead of the Chile game and go for the win”, he added.
