GNPC Brings Brazil closer to fans in Ghana

Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), the headline sponsor of the senior national team, the Black Stars has unveiled four fan zones that will be showing the World Cup games across the country. Although the centre of the Black Stars square in Accra will be the biggest in terms of space and screen size, the one on the Oxford Street at Osu and that of the Jubilee parks in Kumasi and Takoradi are expected to be equally exciting and bursting with fun.

Mr. Alex Mould, the CEO of the GNPC revealed, “From the very onset, we knew not everybody could go to Brazil. Therefore, the GNPC decided to support the dream team to get there and hoist the Ghana flag high. But how do we lin with our heroes while at the games? Thoughtfully the idea od creating these fan zones came to mind”.

“The screens are huge enough to get us into the games and the feeling of being on one stage with the stars is presented to Ghanaians” he added.

Ghana plays the USA on June 16, after which will be two more games against Germany and followed by the last group game with Portugal. It is assured that the viewing centres will be available to fans at all times during World Cup games.

“Last year, our theme was ‘fuelling the passion of the nation; however, this time, ’empowering dreams’, is the path we are towing. These are all in tandem with our corporate values and mission and very soon we will be unfolding our community involvement projects and some individuals lives we have touched over the period. I must say we have a direct theme presently and the corporation is keen on working towards this”, Mr Alex Mould explained.

The GNPC has been the headline sponsor of the Black Stars since January 2013. Within these years, they have been able to empower the senior national team to to one African Cup. The corporation also used the platform to unveil their souvenir taxis which will be sharing out souvenirs like vuvuzela, t-shirts, clappers, and a lot more others mainly during Ghana matches.
