The 2014 World Cup kicked off yesterday June 12 in Sao Paulo, Brazil with a very colorful opening ceremony.

The ceremony happened in a carnival atmosphere as 61,000 fans, mostly in fancy dress, filled the stadium and watched 660 dancers in colorful costumes to display rich Brazilian culture and heritage.

A suitably musical performance by evergreen and beautiful Jennifer Lopez, Claudia Leitte and Pitbull climaxed the memorable event watched by millions all over the world.

J.Lo put up an outstanding performance and gave the ceremony a touch of sexiness and energy.

The trio sang the official World Cup song We Are One (Ole Ola) and clearly Jennifer stood out.

When they finished, the crowd erupted with a mighty roar and chanted “Brazil, Brazil, Brazil.”

Choreographers had been working on the 25-minute ceremony, which was made possible by 300 technicians and 150 production staff, who started preparations since early 2013 including 84 rehearsals in all.
