Officers of the Nigeria Customs Service have arrested an officer the Nigerian Immigration Service (Names witheld) with a vehicle filled with codeine and other psychotropic substances.
The Immigration who is reportedly serving with Katsina Command was arrested along Jibiya border post with the products in his tinted car while attempting to escape unnoticed.
But it learnt he, howeve, ran out of luck when one of the customs officers sighted him.
Meanwhile an official of Katsina Command of Nigeria Customs Service who preferred to remain anonymous said that the arrested Immigration officer was being held at the headquarters of Customs in Katsina and investigations have begun.
The spokesman of Katsina command of Nigeria Immigration Service, however, when contacted said that he was not aware of the arrest, but promised to find out from appropriate quarters.
