The time has come: The 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil is here!

The greatest football show on earth is a few hours away from its opening. Thirty-two nations from across the globe compete for one prize in a journey that starts on Thursday, 12 June 2014 and runs through until the 13 of July, 2014.

The awesomely irresistible prize at stake: the 2014 FIFA World Cup trophy.

This football expedition as revered by the whole world is not just happiness, happiness, happiness. Thirty-one collective hearts will be broken in the end, not to talk about its multiplication by the gigantic respective football followers in its nations.

Just like a single penalty miss tore down the whole African continent in the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament in South Africa, continents will be severed by the sharp knife of disappointment.

Amidst all the frustration and regrets to come later, four years is a long time not to enjoy the sight of good footballers in one country.

The dangling and wobbly dribbling feet of Neymar, the stereotypical every so often unfruitful step overs of World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo, the much so parachute-ic nature of Lionel Messi’s international kit during his runnings, Wayne Rooney’s abysmal FIFA World Cup performances as compared to Ghana’s very own ‘Baby Jet’ Asamoah Gyan and the sheer dominance of the Spain national team is one hard occasion to resist.

The football will be very good, interjected by some periodically awful displays that put a smile on all faces.

Some tactical egos will clash; other will just be making an appearance to enjoy the moment. For some, the pride at stake for not winning is a task too much to bear, for others, every minute spent on the football pitch in Brazil will be an honour.

For all, its one prize, one goal, one people and only one 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. #FootballUnites
