National Chairman of United Front Party (UFP), Nana Agyenim-Boateng, also known as Gyataba has slammed the acclaimed founder of the party, Mr. Akwasi Addai Odike, describing him as an ignorant and a frustrated person who has no idea about politics.
The man who prides himself as the founder of the United Front Party (UFP), Akwasi Addai, popularly called Odike, threatened to deal ruthlessly with “Gyataba”, his National Chairman.
This was after confusion broke out between two factions of the party at the headquarters of the Electoral Commission (EC) in Accra last week where Gyataba was assaulted in the full glare of EC officials by gentlemen said to belong to the camp of Odike.
There is already a standoff between the two individuals over the ownership of the party – with each claiming to have sacked the other from the UFP – which is struggling for survival.
Reacting to the vile action that broke at the Headquarters of the EC, the National Chairman of UFP told the host of Okay Fm’s “Adeakye Abea” morning show that Odike is now former Flagbearer of the party who has no locus in the party to attend invitations thrown the way of the party.
He added that he (Odike) was only made Flagbearership by machinations orchestrated by the EC during the party’s congress in Cape Coast.
Mr. Agyenim-Boateng hinted that the National Executive Council collectively broke away from him (Odike) in the 2012 elections to join the NPP’s Presidential candidate due to ways and means Odike used to rejoin the party during its congress.
“…..the NEC of UFP decided to stay away from Odike’s campaign and collectively decided to support NPP’s Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo Addo; we believed in Nana’s ideology of Free Education…..Odike himself needs free education and we were believing Nana would come to power for Odike to benefit from it. Odike needs free education because as old as he is, he behaves in a manner that depicts someone who needs education. How can a Flagbearer go about invoking curses on people anyhow in the country? He does not even know when elections are conducted in the country so he needs free education,” he asserted.
