National Orientation Agency Officials In Danger

Paul Odenyi, the Chief Press Secretary to Mike Omeri, Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) on Thursday said officials of the agency is in danger following threats of violent attacks by some suspicious persons.

According to a statement issued in Abuja, said that the agency had complained formally to the Nigeria Police about threats by one Etuk Bassey William to attack the premises of the agency with thugs.

Odenyi alleged that Williams said he would disrupt the activities of the National Information Centre (NIC) and assault the Director General as well as staff of the agency.

According to him, the agency is warning members of the public and the media to beware of these characters who in addition, might spread malicious information to undermine the integrity of the agency and its personnel.

It further stated that the NOA had put in place measures to ensure the security of its offices, personnel and legitimate guests coming to the office, assuring that it would not shy away from its responsibility in carrying out its mandate as clearly spelt out in the law establishing it.

It reiterated that the NOA is committed to spreading the good news of the Transformation Agenda of the President Goodluck Jonathan administration.
