Once again, the World Cup Soccer fiesta is here with us and for the third time running Ghana will be among the 32 nations who will engage global attention during the one month that it lasts. Undoubtedly, you, our gallant Black Stars, are among the best in the World and this gives our compatriots great hopes for the tournament.
The very fact that you qualified for Ghana to participate in this momentous global festival demands that all Ghanaians continue to commend your laudable achievement so far. Having put Ghana once again on the enviable map of top class world football, let me urge you on to seal your untiring efforts with an unprecedented victory – God willing.
Be assured that the prayers, goodwill and support of all 25 or so million Ghanaians are with you. By the same token, know also that your every kick and pass of the ball will be followed avidly not only by the whole nation, but the entire world.
My earnest prayer is that the Almighty God keeps you fit and strong throughout the tournament, and inspires you to put up a performance that will captivate the World, and by His grace earn Ghana the coveted trophy. Winning the trophy will certainly be a gargantuan achievement, but know for certain that by qualifying, you have made Ghana proud already.
