The Executive Secretary of Sparrow Nest, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Akyimpem Nana Yaa Jantuah has called on Ghanaians to adopt children who have been rendered homeless.
Such children always find themselves in orphanages, where they don’t have any affinity with their biological parents and are left at the mercy of care-givers. Therefore, adopting such children and nurturing them to become responsible citizens is the best thing a good citizen can do to compliment his or her good works for the country.
Such an act, she noted, always attracts the full blessings of God.
Nana Yaa Jantuah, who is also the Director of Communications of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) made the observation last Saturday when she presented some items worth GH¢6,000 to the Osu Children’s Home.
The items included 10 cartons of frozen chicken, 20 cartons of frozen fish and various baby diapers.
According to the communication expert and strategist, since God always rewards those who show compassion to the needy, adopting orphans and offering them proper upbringing would not be a misplaced priority.
She said God works with humanity to rescue the poor and the down-trodden from the doldrums of poverty and nothingness.
To that end, Ms. Jantuah asked Ghanaians to be compassionate to the poor and the less privileged in society.
‘It doesn’t matter whether you have children or not, Ghanaians must show love and make those children their own,’ she noted.
Asked what motivated her to show compassion to the needy, Ms. Jantuah noted that she was touched by the spirit of God to mobilize resources from his friends and well-wishers through Sparrows Nest.
She said she plans to extend her benevolence to other institutions that cater for the less privileged in society.
Madam Agnes, who received the items on behalf of the Osu Children’s Home, thanked Ms. Jantuah for her kind gesture and prayed to God to reward her abundantly.
She said the items would go a long way to help the orphanage address some of its challenges.
She pleaded with other benevolent individuals, institutions and corporate bodies to emulate the shinning example of Ms. Jantuah.
