According to report, the hall was filled to the brim, preventing members from having easy access into the hall.

The commotion began when Governor, Ibikunle Amosun arrived and many were struggling to catch a glimpse of him. Many people were said to have collapsed in the cause of the rush to see the governor.

The governor then ordered all the doors leading to the inner-chamber of the hall be opened to avoid a repeat of the incident.

He apologised to the people fro the incident, saying next time they would use a stadium for such event.

While addressing the crowd, Gov Amosun said, “I have asked them to open all the doors after I was told that no fewer than 20 people had been rushed to the hospital. So, my apology. Next time we would not do such a thing here again.

“We will go to the stadium, please don’t be annoyed with me, our people outside are really suffocating and they have been taken to the hospital, but I have the belief that it will be well with them.”

‘’Next time we want to do a thing like this, we would ensure that we make use of a spacious place that can accommodate this kind of a crowd.

Meanhwile, Ex-governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel criticized the present the Amosun-led government for its inefficiency saying the All Progressives Congress, APC, had enough time to prove its efficiency but focused only on road construction fully ignoring other sectors development.
