Ghana’s opponent USA beat Nigeria in final warm up game
Ghana’s Group G opponent USA on Saturday, June 7 beat African giants Nigeria by 2-1 in a pre-World Cup friendly at the EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida.
US German Coach Jürgen Klinsmann used the game as preparation and a test of the strength of his squad ahead of their crucial opening game against the Black Stars of Ghana on June 16 in Natal.
It was the Stars and Stripes striker Jozy Altidore who drew first blood when he tapped in Fabian Johnson’s cross in the 31st minute on a play that started with an Alejandro Bedoya run, ending a 27-match scoreless streak for club and country with a goal which was his first since December 4 for Sunderland against Chelsea.

Nigeria however pulled one back in the 86th minutes with a perfect spot kick converted by Victor Moses to end the game 2-1.
