‘Akompreko’ Warns Mahama

Vociferous NPP Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Central Region, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has issued a stern warning to President John Dramani Mahama, to be wary of his association with Ex-president Jerry John Rawlings.

According to him, former President Rawlings is dangerous and must not be given that chance and as well be closely monitored.

“The mosquito is always filled with blood on its head and such is the character of Rawlings,” he said.

The Assin Central legislator issued the warning in a live interview on Kumasi based Nhyira FM’s flagship program dubbed “Kuro Yi Mu Nsem” yesterday.

Mr. Agyapong, fondly named Akompreko, said the former president has a bad track record so far as military takeovers in the country are concern.

He however ruled out any hatched plan of a coup d’état on the part of ex-President Rawlings but said he was only admonishing the sitting president to demonstrate maximum circumspection in dealing with him (Rawlings)

Mr. Agyapong made reference to late President Hilla Limann’s era where cautions were thrown to the wind thence resulting in his overthrow.

He said late President Mills went into the bad books of ex-President Rawlings for his ability to dissociate himself from the latter.

He therefore eulogized the late president for that bold decision to be on guard against what he described as the improper overtures by the ex-president.

On corruption, he said the former president is the luckiest leader in the political history of Ghana but allowed corruption to reign supreme in his regime.

“He does not have locus to be critical of any government so far as corruption is concerned,” he emphasized.

Mr. Agyapong referred to his criticisms against former President John Agyakum Kufuor as one bone out of envy.

“Kufuor’s eight years far outweighs his 19 years rule and that is how come he is always barking for no unclear reason,” he maintained.
