Jordan Ayew thrilled to arrive on the big stage

Making the cut into any Ghana team for a major tournament certainly leaves players thrilled as Jordan Ayew relishes the chance to play at the World Cup.

Four years ago in South Africa, Jordan had to watch the Black Stars, which included two brothers of his – Rahim, an unused substitute and Andre, who featured – on TV as Ghana reached the knockout stages but lost to Uruguay on penalties in the quarter-final.

The 22-year-old attacker has this time made the team in Brazil for his first World Cup and is particularly pleased that he will share the experience with his older brother and Marseille teammate, Andre.

‘It’s a good feeling to be in the Ghana team with my brother because I haven’t played a big tournament like the World Cup before,” Jordan said.

“In 2010, I watched him at home. Now I am here with him in the same team.’

Going to the World Cup in Brazil will be the second time both brothers have the Black Stars squad for a major tournament after they both made the team for the 2012 AFCON in Gabon.
