Italy has become one of the many countries to have joined Nigeria in its fight against terrorism.
The Italian Ambassador to Nigeria Fulvio Rustico made this know during the celebration of the Italian National Day held in Lagos on June 8.
Rustico referring to Italy’s experience of overcoming terrorism, which had lasted for more than 10 years, was thus quoted saying by Leadership:
“Italy will now, therefore, stand by the Nigerian Government in its fight to tackle terrorism’s woes, as well as in mending the sufferings of the people. We have no doubt that the Nigerian Government and Nigerians will triumph over the evils of the Boko Haram insurgency.”
According to him, the Italian government is ready to organize special training for the country’s major security and military agencies.
In conclusion Rustico expressed the commitment of his country to strengthening relations with Nigeria.
