Melanie Griffith has filed for divorce from Antonio Banderas after 18 years.
TMZ reports Griffith is citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
Griffith is also seeking child support, spousal support and joint custody of their daughter, Stella, who is 17 years old.
Griffith and Banderas married in 1996, after meeting and falling in love on the set of their 1995 film Too Much, while both were married to other people.
The marriage was Griffith’s fourth (she was previously married twice to actor Don Johnson) and Banderas’ second, with sources telling TMZ the split was “amicable”.
Banderas previously said the couple value being open about their relationship troubles during Griffith’s time in and out of rehab.
“We have as many problems as anybody. We’ve never hidden it,” he previously told AARP magazine.
“We’ve been open about addictions, in the case of Melanie. She has overcome her problems beautifully. I didn’t know she was so strong. It makes me love her even more.”
Griffith, who most recently was seen on sitcom Raising Hope, has hired divorce lawyer to the stars Laura Wasser.
