Real worry: Germany dealt huge blow as Rues sustains injury


Marco Rues’ chances of playing in the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament was dealt a huge blow after the player sustained an injury on Friday.

Rues landed awkwardly on the ground in Germany’s World Cup warm up game against Armenia and was seen clutching his ankle.

The player had to be helped off the pitch before the first half interval of the game.

The ankle injury could be a problem for Germany coach Low as Rues will be a huge miss if he fails to recover in time for the tournament which starts on Thursday, June 12, 2014.

Germany are in the FIFA World Cup Group G with Ghana, Portugal and the United States of America.
