French Open: Nadal thrashes Murray to reach final

Rafael Nadal ease past Andy Murray 6-3 6-2 6-1 in Paris on Friday afternoon.

The ‘king of clay’ showed his prowess by breaking the Scotsman’s serve at the first time of asking who appeared to completely run out of steam.

The British number one struggled to come close to testing Nadal as he lost the second set having won just seven points on the Spaniard’s serve after the first two sets.

It then became a formality for Nadal in the end as he broke the Scotsman’s serve once again to keep up his dominance and grab victory to push his winning record to 65 matches at Roland Garros.

Nadal will fight for his ninth French Open title against Novak Djokovic on Sunday.
