FCP Premier League: Vital statistics of the 2013/14 season


General statistics
A total of 240 matches were played in the First Capital plus Premier League.

 A total of 476 goals were scored in the 2013/14 Premier league season, as against 511 goals scored in the 2012/13.

 Averages of 1.9 goals were scored per game, as against 2.1 goals per game last season.

 184 games of the total 240 games played resulted in wins, thus the same number resulted in losses for the 240 matches played.

A total of 56 draws were witnessed in the 2013/14 season.

The match day that witnessed the highest number of goals was match day 14, which produced 25 goals.

The match day that witnessed the least number of goals were match day 1, 9 and 29 all producing 10 goals each.

 
Club records
Asante Kotoko fc won the league title with 56 points, becoming the third club after Ashanti Gold and Hearts of Oak to win the Ghana Premier League for three consecutive seasons. On the part of Hearts of Oak, they extended their winning streak to 6 titles in a row. Last season they won the league with the same number of points.

The team that won most matches was Asante Kotoko, winning 17 out of 30 matches.

The team lost most games was Amidaus Professionals, losing 17 out of 30 matches

 Sekondi Hasaacas scored the highest number of goals in the season with 41 goals.

 The team that conceded the least number of goals (21) was Bechem United.

The team that conceded most goals (42) was Amidaus Professional.

For the first time in the premier league since 2006/07 that all the three clubs promoted survived relegation: Inter Allies, Bechem United and Hasaacas.

The team with most wins was Asante Kotoko 17 wins in 30 matches.

Berekum Chelsea was the only team that finished the season unbeaten at home

Berekum Chelsea was the only team that failed to get an away win.

Three clubs were relegated: King Faisal, Amidaus Professionals and Ebusua Dwarfs

 
Individual records
The first player to score a goal was Tamimu Muntari of Liberty Professionals in the 8th minute of the match day 1 against WA All Stars at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra.

The last player to score a goal was Asiedu Attobrah of New Edubiase in the 90+4  minute against Hearts of Oak at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra on match day 30.

Augustine Okrah of Bechem United emerged as the top scorer with 16 goals, but trailed by four goals behind last season’s top scorer Mahatma, then playing for Hearts of Oak.

 Sulley mohammed of King Faisal registered the first hat-trick of the season on match day 5 in their 3-2 win over Wa All Stars in Kumasi.

The last hat-trick of the season was scored by Augustine Okrah, eventual the goal King on match day 29 in Bechem United’s thrashing of Medeama.
