KING FAISAL was yesterday relegated to Division One football after they were held 1-1 by visiting Berekum Chelsea.

The Alhaji Grusah team started well as they jumped into the lead in the first half, sparking wild jubilations.

King Faisal managed to protect their solitary lead to the end of the first half at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi.

But Berekum Chelsea, who were being faced with relegation threat, cancelled the lead right after recess.

Yaw Alexander’s feeble shot, surprisingly went past the Faisal goalkeeper into the net.

The stadium went dead when Chelsea who played spiritedly pulled even.

Faisal probed for the match winner but they were frustrated by Chelsea’s time wasting strategy.

It was all tears at the Faisal bench when the referee whistled to end hostilities. Players, technical team and fans of Faisal, were thrown into an uncontrollable tears.

Faisal thus join Ebusua Dwarfs and Amidaus Professionals to the lower league.

Meanwhile, Aduana Stars avoided relegation from the   Ghana Premier League   after posting a vital 2-0 win over champions   Asante Kotoko.

Second half strikes from James Abban and Emmanuel Akuoko sealed the important win for the Fire club before their fans in Dormaa.
