Mohammed Polo believes he has excelled in his interim coaching role at Hearts of Oak.

The ex Ghana star’s short-term contract with the Phobians expires on Thursday having led the side out for the last time in their final Premier League match against New Edubiase a day before.

Polo has struggled for consistent form since replacing David Duncan at the end of last year.

He has won just six, drawn three and lost a staggering eight in his 17 Premier League games with Hearts.

Polo however believes he has done extremely well considering the enormous challenges he faced when he took over.

‘If you have a situation like what I found myself in, I don’t think any coach has gone through the kind of challenges I have been faced with,’ he told Power FM.

‘And if you look at our position, I believe it has been impressive.’

Hearts are still in with a chance of finishing second which will see them make a return to the CAF Champions League.
