Members of Parliament (MPs) are expected to reconvene on Tuesday, 10th June 2014 for the second sessional meeting, the Public Affairs Directorate of Parliament has announced.

An earlier communication said Parliament, which rose on March 28, 2014, was expected to reconvene on Tuesday, 3rd June, 2014.

However, a statement copied to DAILY GUIDE, which did not assign any specific reasons for the postponement, indicated that Chairpersons, Ranking Members and Clerks of the committees on Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Finance, Roads and Transport and Subsidiary Legislation are to meet on Monday, 2nd June 2014 at 10am.

Minority Leader in Parlaiment, Osei-Kyei-Mensah Bonsu disclosed on Citi Fm that the business in the House was expected to suffer setbacks due to financial constraints.

He also stated that the postponement would affect the effective scrutiny of documents and agreements laid before the House.

Nonetheless, the Public Affairs Directorate urged parliamentarians, administrative heads, media and the general public to take note of the change in date and converge accordingly.
