Fabulous fail to find their spot as Hasaacas retain title

Hasaacas Ladies won the National Women’s Championship back-to-back after beating rivals, Fabulous Ladies 6-5 on penalties on Saturday.

Fabulous Ladies’ goalkeeper Memunatu Sulemana, a former Ghana international missed her kick as Hasaacas, again beat the Kumasi-based side in the final at the Accra Stadium.

Both sides, winners of their respective divisions in the League finished regulation time goalless to send the game into penalties.

And Sulemana’s miss presented Hasaacas with the opportunity to plant their sixth kick in the back of the net as they lifted the Championship once more.

However in the relegation play-off between teams that finished one place above bottom in the divisions, Soccer Intellectuals romped in the goals to win 9-0 over Oforikrom Ladies.

The results confirms Intellectuals’ place in the National Women’s League for next season whiles Oforikrom are relegated.

Oforikrom, thus join Ayoola Ladies and Sharp Arrows into relegation after the 2013/2014 season.
